Sick notes and official Spanish Social Security sick leave
This service does not issue official Spanish Social Security sick-leave certificates (“parte de baja/alta por incapacidad temporal”). These must be arranged through the Spanish public healthcare system, usually through your local public primary care centre.
What can be issued
After an online medical assessment, I can issue private medical certificates or consultation notes when clinically appropriate, for example for work, college or certain travel-related situations. Acceptance of any certificate ultimately depends on the organisation requesting it.
When you need this service
Travellers and employees often need written confirmation when illness disrupts work, school or travel plans. This service covers private notes for work, school or university and certificates stating you are unfit to travel. It does not cover certificates of fitness to travel or fitness to work, which require an in-person physical examination and cannot be issued online.
How it works
A straightforward, fully remote process:
- Describe your situation in the 1-minute consultation request form.
- I contact you on WhatsApp to arrange the consultation.
- After the consultation, pay €55; if clinically appropriate, the certificate is emailed to you, ready to forward to your employer or school.
What you get
A private medical certificate or consultation note based on the doctor’s clinical assessment. Certificates can reflect symptoms from up to 2 days before the consultation when clinically justified, with a maximum coverage of 7 consecutive days. As with any consultation, issuing a certificate is at the doctor’s discretion and is not guaranteed simply by requesting one.
How do I get a medical certificate online in Spain?
Submit the consultation request form. I contact you on WhatsApp to arrange the consultation; no upfront payment is required. We speak by video or WhatsApp, and if a certificate is clinically appropriate it is emailed to you the same day. There is no need to visit a clinic — the whole process is online and available in English or Spanish.
Can I get a private GP medical certificate or doctor’s note online?
Yes. This service issues private GP medical certificates and doctor’s notes online for work, school or university, as well as unfit-to-travel certificates. Official Social Security sick-leave certificates, fitness-to-travel and fitness-to-work certificates are not issued online.
