Terms & conditions

Last updated:

These terms govern the use of the private telemedicine service operated by the provider listed below. By booking a consultation, you accept these terms.

Service provider

Dr. Gastón Vázquez. Spain (Barcelona) medical registration COMB № 47708, Irish Medical Council № 425386. Contact: medico@gpdoctorspain.com.

Scope of the service

A private online medical consultation (video or WhatsApp call) of up to 15 minutes with Dr. Vázquez. This is a private medical service: it is not part of the Spanish public health system, and any sick notes issued are private. This is not an emergency service — in an emergency, call 112.

Scope and limitations

  • Only conditions suitable for a safe online consultation are seen, as described in the "What I treat" and "What I don't treat" sections of this website.
  • The doctor may determine during the consultation that your case requires in-person assessment and direct you to the appropriate care.
  • Children under 6 are not seen. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during the consultation.
  • Controlled medication (opioids, benzodiazepines, sleeping pills, stimulants) is not prescribed, and fitness-to-travel or fitness-to-work certificates are not issued.

Booking and payment

The consultation fee is €55. You do not pay when booking: payment is made during or right after the consultation, via a secure payment link the doctor sends on WhatsApp once you have spoken. The service is VAT exempt under Art. 20.Uno.3º of Spanish Law 37/1992. Your receipt is sent automatically after payment.

Cancellations

  • Booking a consultation is free — no payment is taken in advance.
  • You can cancel or reschedule at any time before your appointment at no cost, by contacting medico@gpdoctorspain.com.
  • If you miss your appointment without notice, no charge applies, but repeated no-shows may affect future bookings.
  • If the doctor has to cancel your appointment, you will be offered a new appointment at no cost.

Prescriptions and certificates

Prescriptions (via REMPE) and medical certificates are issued only where clinically appropriate, at the doctor's discretion. Payment for the consultation does not guarantee a prescription or certificate: if the doctor considers it is not clinically justified, this will be explained during the consultation.

Patient obligations

  • Provide truthful and complete information in the pre-consultation form and during the consultation.
  • Have WhatsApp active on the agreed device at the time of your appointment.
  • Do not use this service for urgent or emergency situations.

Liability

Online consultations have inherent limitations compared with physical examination. Diagnosis and treatment are based on the information available during the consultation; withholding relevant information may affect the clinical assessment. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under applicable law.

Data protection

The processing of your personal and health data is described in the Privacy policy, available in the footer.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Spanish law. For consumers, any dispute will be submitted to the courts of the consumer's place of residence.

Updates

These terms may be updated to reflect legal or operational changes. The date of last revision appears at the top of the document.
